12/06/2016 saw the massacre of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender people in the Pulse Nightclub Orlando, words fail me to describe how I felt when I heard the news.
For many many years as a transgender person I have railed quietly about being tagged on to the end of LGBT, the former is obviously about sexuality the latter obviously about gender identity and not who you sleep with. BUT .. from today you can put the transgender at the beginning middle and end of LGBT and I stand shoulder to shoulder with everyone, in fact yes lets get it right LGBTQ … the Q stands for questioning. I’ll go one step further LGBTQSWALAYDHA – Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning, Straight, Whatever, As, Long, As, You, Don’t, HURT ANYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
These people didn’t hurt anyone they are no different to any other member of society, but I share one thing in common with them, FEAR, fear of prejudice, fear of beating, fear of bigots, fear of being different, fear of being picked out. These LGBT people were at a night out were they felt safe from the fear they face everyday. Until some scum decided to spit his dummy out and try make his sick point.
WELL WE KNOW YOUR POINT AND IT’S STILL SICK!
All that this incident should do is bind people together, integrate each other more, teach us to respect everyone as a human being, teach us that as long as we aren’t HARMING anyone then let people have there own views and leave it at that. LIVE AND LET LIVE. We, I and others need to stop hiding away, stop denying each other exists as human beings and be proud of the diverse nature of the human species, be proud of what we all are and what we stand for. Denying each other, hiding away and lying about what we are is simply making all of us even more transparent and breeds more and more fear for the people living it day after day like me and millions of others. ACCEPT AND RESPECT EACH OTHER
Here’s a message to Governments all over the world, stay out of wars we have nothing to do with. The ‘police’ of the world are the United Nations let them sort it out … leave these countries with their sick leaders to wage their own wars and maybe one day we as a globe will all be safer. Yes help people but DO NOT interfere in other peoples wars, Mr Blair and Mr Bush … thanks for the lasting legacy of your power hungry politics!
And on a final note Mr Farage and friends in the UK leave campaign. You too are sick with your recent tweet publicised on Sky News levering this terrible shooting in Orlando. You’ve made my mind up on how to vote … Eddie Izzard on Question Time last week (much that he made a dick of himself) was right on at least one point and was as clear as a bell in the way he made it, on that point alone my mind is clearer today more than ever! We formed the European Union to stop Nazi’s and fundamentals ever creating a world like we had in the Second World War, Europe may be flawed, immigration may be getting too much for the UK to take but I know working together is far better than working in isolation … It’s time to pull together to make the world a better place not play who’s got the biggest gun, who’s country is the best or what ideology is the most right. We are all humans sharing one fragile frigging world – work together and we may save ourselves and generations to come from a slow and painful extinction at our own greedy and ego centric hands.
Rest in peace all those slaughtered in any LGBT hate crime, RIP those who took their lives through fear and despair, live in hope and be fearless all those who still remain … Love can win the day!
Living a life of fear is a life half lived … the people who died in Orlando where in a place were they believed they had nothing to fear, at least we all know before the sick gunman entered they all were living life to the full and all in enjoyed the PULSE of life. Rest in peace all of you.
