Welcome to Two Spirit

This website is quite simply a log and a dumping ground for all my thoughts and experiences of being a transgender person growing up through the 1970's and trying to find a route through life.

The site contains my musings on transgender topics and challenges I face, a small story section that tells my story from being young right through today, not to mention links and news.

Some of the website is recent some of the website is ancient.  If nothing else I hope it may help some people who have to deal with transgender issues at whatever stage of their lives.

No matter how you define yourself in the spectrum of gender identity, or how you deal with the very real condition of gender dysphoria understanding yourself is hard enough.  Then of course you have to learn to navigate the outside world.

Being transgender isn't ever a choice, it isn't better than being a woman or a man, for me being transgender is simply something I know about me.  I am no better or worse than anyone else, I have as many and as few rights as anyone else, we are all born as equal and unequal as each other.

Some get the breaks some don't, some lose on the swings and others gain on the roundabouts, it's not how you are born its what you do with your life that matters the most.

Whoever you are and however you define yourself, consideration, compassion, love and peace will always do more than anything else, for you and those around you.

Stay safe

Logo for a transgender blog

What does the logo mean?

Although I am white and English I feel a sense of connection to Native Americans a deeply spiritual and wise people.

The logo I created nods to their beliefs and symbols.

For me the three feathers show that their isn't just a gender binary that there is at very least a 3rd way.

The bears claw for strength we all have to have to get through day, a claw wrapped in a heart for the love we should share with everyone.

Of course the rays behind the logo symbolise the rays of hope we must feel each morning.
